What's up with this sore thumb?

As you may have all begun to notice there is no way I am keeping up with this everyday.  But to move on I want to put out here that I have done organizing without posting it and not only that but a group of fantastic humans from my 12baskets ministries group came and organized my house for servolution the day before Easter.  It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.  Since I started working with this group my life has blossomed.  My life is full, there is so much love and I have met so many wonderful ladies.

Before they came to organize I did a few things myself and I wanted to prove it to you so here are a few of my projects.

So here is a drawer that once held, only God knows what.  A little bit of everything got shoved into it.  So after finding something in this drawer that I tore my house apart looking for I took the liberty to make it my organizing project one day.  Now what is all that stuff in there you ask.  Emergency stuff.  Candles, flashlights, walkie talkies, , solid oil, and earphones (i can never find any so yes they are considered emergency items, i usually am walking out the door in a hurry when i need them).

Don't you love twistie ties!  I used to hate them!  I hated when they came with my bread, my trashbags, my anything.  They seemed to be everywhere!  They would end up all over my house and it aggravated the crap out of me.  Well, bye bye messy cords.  Bye bye unused twistie ties.  Of course when I came up with the idea to use them this way I couldn't find any so, thank you garage sales, found a huge bag from an older lady who must have reused them too.  Maybe paid a quarter for all of them plus a gazillion rubber bands, and Lord knows what else.  Thanks again garage sales.  Along with the emergency stuff I did throw in back up items.  I have two chargers (not pictured) that fit multiple items that I don't have enough chargers for.  So when I need one I just hop on over to this drawer and pick it up.  I have a back up phone charger in there also and a back up USB cord.  I would have put my batteries in there but I have to many, but speaking of batteries I also have organized my batteries!

Simple enough, right!  I found this great organizer in the craft section at Walmart and couldn't resist.  I think I may have seen it on Pinterest before but I'm not sure.  I used to have an actual "battery organizer".  It never fit enough batteries and well, it was ugly and hung on the wall.  If I had a garage, maybe, but me and this little apartment they stuck out like a sore thumb.  As little as it seems I was so excited to do this.

I will save the rest for the next blog.  Cross your fingers it happens soon!

Trash to treasure :)

Well I am so excited!  I got my first project done and out the way.  I showed you these pictures yesterday:

Found on Pinterest and I fell in love!
My previous coat closet door.

So like I told you the other day i found that piece on the side of the road.  I worked on it yesterday and here is the final result:

Scrapbook supplies!
Don't you love it!

To help me organize so things didn't fall straight through those slits I used these cute boxes I got at a garage sale one day.  Super cheap and came in super handy.  When i bought them forever ago I knew they would come in handy someday lol.  I probably shouldn't buy stuff that "will probably come in handy someday" but I did.  It may not be absolutely perfect but I am in love with it.  In my previous "organized" pink pocket thingy I have everything from Lysol to photo paper, extra shoe strings, sunscreen, and so much other crap.  Now I am going to get my medicine organized.  Those of you who know me know it is going to be a daunting task considering how much medicine I take just on a daily basis and not even counting the "as needed" medication like cough medicine, ibprofen, and whatever else there is.  So, wish me luck and keep smiling!

Yay for garbage day!

I skipped a day!  Already!  Not a good sign.  Well, I will try my best to not do it again.  I have a little insomnia problem that comes around every now and then and instead of getting up and doing stuff like I could (and used to) I tossed and turned accomplishing nothing.  Ever since my daughter started school I stopped doing stuff during my insomnia because on some weird "Shannon" planet that means I will not wake up in the morning when I need to.  The difference between staying in bed and not staying in bed? Absolutely nothing except my house will be slightly cleaner if I get out of bed and do stuff.  I don't make sense so let's move on.

I found this on the side of the road the other day.  It may not look like much now but Madisyn and I have big plans for this piece.

It's an old sliding closet door :)

So that was one of my surprises that I talked about the other day.  Another one I was so psyched about.  Why, you may ask.  On Pinterest (my new favorite site) I saw this photo on Saturday:

I used to have something like this for my kitchen.  At some point during my double digit moves it didn't make it.  So just imagine how excited I was when I found this on the side of the road with the picture above:
See how cool is this!  Not a scratch on it!

So I can't wait to show you how this goes!  Yay!  I did get some organizing accomplished but I didn't finish it in time.  I have to finish by 2p.m because after I pick up my daughter from school we pretty much go straight to the library until about 8, eat dinner, do dishes and crash lately.  So pictures will be up later.

Pray that I manage to finish some things on my list tomorrow and get to show you some awesome accomplishments!  Until

Today was slightly less productive then I had anticipated.  I did a few things that I will show you tomorrow once I can take pictures of it PLUS I found something that I thought was absolutely amazing!  I wish I could say I organized the day away but I didn't.  I did donate some bags of clothes and leftover food containers from when I had surgery to these kids having a garage sale in our apartment complex.  So I purged some, got next to nothing organized, but am excited for tomorrow and the ideas I got today!  Wish me luck in what tomorrow will bring, and good luck to you too!

My Bright Idea

Day one will start February 12, 2012.  Today after going through a multitude of stuff and trying to organize I took a cue from the blogger's in blog world and thought, "Hey, maybe if I blog about what I do everyday that will make me actually get stuff accomplished!"  So here's to hoping!  Each day I will tackle a task or two of some sort.  Whether I am organizing my life, my house, my car, your car, well, something.  As much as I know you will absolutely adore every word I write I will also take pictures so you can have more reason's for the adoration you will undeniably feel for this blog.  The more I work on the blog the more cool stuff I will put on it, of course.  I know my friends will follow my blog; if only just to see if I actually do accomplish anything, but to whoever my happen upon this dime in the dozens, I hope you like it!
